Hockey Canada released the roster of players this morning who have been invited to try out for the Canadian entry at this year's World Junior Championships, which start Boxing Day in Edmonton and Calgary this year.
Full invitee list can be found here. The invitee list includes 16 WHLers this year:
Goaltenders:
Tyler Bunz (Medicine Hat)
Defencemen:
Matt Dumba (Red Deer)
Brenden Kichton (Spokane)
Joseph Morrow (Portland)
Ryan Murray (Everett)
Alex Petrovic (Red Deer)
Mark Pysyk (Edmonton)
Forwards:
Brett Bulmer (Kelowna)
Michael Ferland (Brandon)
Brendan Gallagher (Vancouver)
Quinton Howden (Moose Jaw)
Mark McNeill (Prince Albert)
Max Reinhart (Kootenay)
Ty Rattie (Portland)
Brad Ross (Portland)
Mark Stone (Brandon)
Two NCAA players are invited as well, including one who is a WHL prospect - 19 year old Jaden Schwartz from Colorado College is a Tri-City Americans list player.
Red Deer's Dumba is the only 17 year old invited this year. As this is usually an 18/19 year old tournament, Dumba is probably facing an uphill battle to make the team....but you never know.

Where is the list of euros playing?
Odd not to see Ryan Johansen's name on there. You think it was because Columbus has said they won't release him to play?
And Pickard wasn't invited again? He's the only reason Seattle is in some games......
wow...no jordan weal!...what more does this kid have to do!
no Duncan Siemens either
Agree with Ragsdale, Greg Drinnan, and everyone in Seattle... while The Hockey News is running a column on their website right now about lack of goaltending pedigree for Team Canada, the best goalie in the Dub (Pickard) was not even invited to try out -- that, to me, makes no sense at all.
However, since I'll be pulling for Team USA, I guess I can live with it!
