The NHL has hired another former WHL bench boss as a head man in the big league. This time it's former Swift Current Broncos coach & G.M. Todd McLellan who has been hired as the new head coach of the San Jose Sharks.
By my count, McLellan makes five former WHL head coaches who are now head coaches in the NHL. The other four are Mike Babcock, Ken Hitchcock, Tom Renney, and Brent Sutter.

Craig Hartsburg named to coach the Ottawa Senators.
Yes he does have 13 years NHL experience but he's been coaching the OHL Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds for the last four seasons as well as the Canadian Juniors in 2006 and 2007.
...and another name gets added to the ever growing list.
Peter DeBoer hired to coach the Florida Panthers.
This past season, DeBoer coached the Kitchener Rangers of the OHL to the Memorial Cup, losing in the final to the Spokane Chiefs.
