My annual posting of the prospects of each WHL team will start later today.....we're going to go in reverse order of standings, so Saskatoon will be the first team this year and Brandon will be the last.
After Saskatoon tonight, I'm going to post three teams a day starting tomorrow so this should wrap up in a week. I'll link to each team's post over on the upper right there ("2015-16 prospects quick links") once a team is posted so you can easily find your favorite teams even after they have been pushed down the blog by newer postings.
A few things:
- these lists are based on WHL protected player lists (PPLs) from mid-July. Obviously there may be a change or two that have been made by now but there is very little I can do about that unfortunately. I'm just thankful to the person who provided the PPLs when they did because it was looking like there might not be any prospects stuff this year.
- for the purposes of these posts, I defined a prospect as any player who played less than 20 games in the WHL last year. Players who would have been at 20 games had they not missed most of the year due to injury were also not included.
- heights and weights come (mostly) from websites of leagues the player was in last year. Similarly, almost all statistics were sourced from those league sites as well. Players I could not on my own find stats for, or heights/weights for, in most of those cases I used eliteprospects.com for them.
- where I know a player has signed a WHL education contract, I have noted that. I have also noted NCAA commitments made by players. And for fun, I've thrown in some notes about players who are related to other WHL players or prospects, past or present.
If you find ANYTHING in these posts that you believe to be incorrect, please let me know. You can leave a comment on the post, or my email is over there on the right side as well.
Enjoy.
