Chiefs/Canes deal

Another overage move last night - Spokane has gotten down to the limit of three overagers by trading forward Dustin Donaghy to Lethbridge for a 2010 6th round bantam pick.

Two of the Chiefs' overagers (Letts & Spurgeon) are still injured, but with this move the Chiefs will not need to make any further moves when those guys become available.

For Lethbridge, this trade gives them four overagers, and when you combine that with them also having three imports, it doesn't look good at all for Radim Valchar. He seems to have fallen out of favour there a bit, and the Canes can solve both their overage and import problems by trading or releasing Valchar.

Maybe the Blades will trade for Valchar? I doubt it though.

If they want him, he's available for free now that the Hurricanes have waived him.

I can't see the Blades being interested though. They would have to get rid of one of Klassen, Hulak, or Wintoneak first and those guys are all better than Valchar.
