Berg was Chilliwack's 2nd round pick in the 2007 bantam draft and played 50 games for the Bruins last year as a 16 year old. He was sent to Jr A (Melfort Mustangs of the SJHL) this fall though, citing the need for him to get more playing time in order to develop. I suspect the Hitmen may leave Berg in Jr A for the season.....they have eight defencemen on their roster already and don't need more help.
This move may be one Chilliwack needed to make in order to open up a protected list spot for Cole Penner. Just a guess.
