I see former NHLer Rob Ramage has been sentenced to four years in jail for the drunk-driving accident which killed his friend (and fellow former NHLer) Keith Magnusson.
What I find interesting is that he plans to appeal. Wow.....it seems to me that four years in jail (of which he would probably spend less than 18 months actually behind bars before being paroled) for killing somebody, while driving with as much as four times the legal limit of alcohol in your system, is a pretty light sentence to begin with. Does he honestly feel like the appropriate punishment for this crime is to be forced to tour the country lecturing on the perils of drunk driving?
We all know about the perils of drunk driving already. At least, those of us who don't live under rocks all do. Those of us who choose to ignore those perils and drive drunk anyway need to be punished. So, Ramage belongs in jail, not in high school classrooms. Only four years....take it and run already.

Totally agree! Our kids need role models and need to learn they have to pay for their mistakes.
He'll have to live with killing his friend for the rest of his life but it sounds like that won't be hard with his type of moral character.
Thanks for letting us know about this, I hadn't heard this horrible news yet.
