I think Wudrick needed a change of scenery in Swift so the Broncos' end of this deal makes sense if that's the reason - it also moves him a lot closer to his home in Abbotsford. And with Wudrick likely to play next year as an overage, the Rockets probably had to add Clark to the deal to make it fair to the Broncos, who will only get the remainder of this season out of Novotny.
What I don't quite understand is why Kelowna would want to deal Novotny - their leading scorer. Were they just that high on Wudrick that they would surrender Novotny for him?

Are there any conditionals on this trade?
What happens if LA Kings assign Wudrick to their AHL team next season, while the undrafted Novotny return to Swift Current for his overage season (and Tanner Clark plays as a rookie D-man)?
thats a year down the road for two players that will make an impact with their new teams right away.
the two teams know exactly what they are getting in return so I would have a hard time seeing any conditions on the trades whatsoever.
One would assume that because a player betters himself and moves on, that compensation the next year would not be given to a team for him leaving. Thats what the league is all about after all.
Now, should one player, be a total bust as a pick up and not make the roster or some other weird circumstance,(not reporting ect)the the deal would reverse or be taken back ect.
Just a guess anyways
