Obviously this means the Blades had dropped Gustafsson from their protected list after sending him home back when they were trying to figure out who of Gustafsson, Milan Kytnar, and Jyri Niemi to keep. After trading Kytnar the Blades could have kept Gustafsson after all but I guess they did not want to add him back to their protected list for whatever reason. Now they'll get to play against him five or six times this year if he's any good.
