Tonight's combination of Moose Jaw beating Lethbridge plus Swift Current beating Regina has mathematically eliminated the Pats. We've known it was coming for a while, but now it is official: despite loading up at the trade deadline, the Pats will miss the playoffs.
Then, those two results (MJ & SC wins) plus Prince Albert losing in Calgary has resulted in a 7 point gap opening up between Swift Current in the #8 spot and the Raiders in the #9 spot. With the Raiders only having six games remaining, making up that 7 points is probably going to be too difficult a task - so it seems more likely every day that they are going to be the other non-playoff team in the East.....
Also, the Hitmen win over the Raiders has clinched the Central division title for the Hitmen for the third straight year. So, they are now guaranteed of at least the #1 or #2 seed in the first round in the East.
