Looks like a side effect of the return of the NHL to Winnipeg will be that Winnipeg is going to lose the hosting rights to next season's World U-17 Challenge.
The annual post-Christmas tournament - which features many 16 year olds off CHL rosters - had been planned for the MTS Centre in Winnipeg, but with the return of the Jets the arena has become unavailable for some of the U-17 dates. Consequently, Hockey Canada announced today that the tournament will be moved to Windsor, Ontario instead.
