The Hitmen and Winter Hawks swing a deal.
Calgary gets the rights to 19 year old T.J. Galiardi from Portland for a 2008 3rd round bantam pick. This is possibly Moose Jaw's pick which Calgary had acquired from the Warriors last fall for Matt Isbister.
Galiardi is a 2nd round pick of the Colorado Avalanche and is leaving Dartmouth of the NCAA after just one year. He posted 31 points in 33 games there as a freshman and will help address Calgary's need for offence. I would guess he wasn't wild about joining the rebuilding effort in the rose city and hence the trade to a contender.
