Boychuk has surgery

Lethbridge star Zach Boychuk underwent surgery on his left wrist earlier this week to repair a fracture. The surgery was called a success, and the doctor estimates he should be recovered in three months.

That puts his return to the ice at around mid October.....which is probably good news for the Lethbridge version of the Hurricanes and bad news for the NHL version of them. For the NHL squad, this means he won't be ready to play until shortly after the start of the NHL season and therefore he probably has no chance of making the NHL roster since he'll miss all of training camp and won't be in game shape when he IS ready to play. For the WHL Canes, it's good news because it means he'll very likely be back in the WHL this year although he'll miss the first 10 games or so of the season.
