First, we have a trade this morning in advance of the import draft. Edmonton has dealt 19 year old import forward Sebastien Svendsson, along with a 2011 3rd round bantam pick, to Prince Albert for overage forward Jordan Hickmott.
This deal clears the decks for Edmonton and they now have no imports, so look for them to use both of their picks in tomorrow's draft. They have the #4 overall pick (their own) and the #19 overall pick (Chilliwack's pick from a deal last year) so they are probably hoping to land a couple impact players. For the Raiders, this deal gives them one import now, so they will likely only use one pick tomorrow, 16th overall.
The other bit of news is that an OHL team - the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds - has joined the lineup for the Everett preseason tournament this year. It's an unusual situation to see WHL teams playing OHL or QMJHL clubs outside of the Memorial Cup, so this will certainly make that tournament a little more interesting than usual....

Did Hartsburg coach in the Soo back when he in the OHL?
all the US division teams with the Soo will be in the Labor Day tourny and yes Hartsburg did coach there.
