Wednesday notes

Few things today....

First, the prospects posts are now complete; all 22 teams have been done. I hope everyone enjoyed them.

A few notes to pass along. First, if you have not already checked on Michael Remmerde's blog, you should do that today because he has posted team-by-team breakdowns of each WHL team's prospects for the 2010 NHL draft, as well as a look ahead to who might be the good prospects for 2011. It's good reading - the link is over there on the right-hand side.

The NHL draft goes Friday night (1st round) and Saturday morning (all the rest)....

Second, it looks like the new coach of the Spokane Chiefs will be somebody who is no stranger to the U.S. division. Gregg Drinnan (link on the right-hand side as well) is reporting that Don Nachbaur will be the new coach of the Chiefs. Nachbaur resigned as coach of the AHL's Binghamton Senators after just one season there. He has previously coached the Seattle Thunderbirds (1994-2000) and the Tri-City Americans (2003-2009). If true, this will certainly add another twist to the Chiefs-Americans rivalry, seeing as how Nachbaur is only one year removed from having coached the Americans.

Also, the Eastern Conference held its' scheduling meeting earlier this week, and as a result of that you can see some tentative schedules trickling out for some of those teams, on their websites. If you're a fan of a team that has NOT released any of its' schedule (or a Western Conference team), you can still get some of your teams' tentative dates by checking the few schedules that are out.
