The Giants have apparently signed 2007 NHL 3rd round pick Casey Pierro-Zabotel to a WHL contract. Pierro-Zabotel gives up his NCAA scholarship to Michigan Tech after repeatedly failing to score high enough marks to get into university.
Pierro-Zabotel has been playing with the BCHL's Merritt Centennials this year, as he has for the past three years. 15 goals and 12 assists in 17 games there so far this year. His rights have been owned by several WHL teams over the last few years but none have been able to recruit him; now the NCAA music has stopped and the Giants have apparently grabbed the only remaining chair.
