Friday games

It was the Tyler Ennis show tonight.....Medicine Hat beat Prince Albert 6-2 and Ennis scored all six goals for the Tigers. My memory of the WHL goes back at least 20 years and this is the first six goal game I can recall in a long, long time. The WHL record for most goals in a game by one player is seven though, held by five different people.

Not to worry about the outcome of the rest of the weekend's games.....we know who the WHL's player of the week is going to be, come Monday.

Other things that happened....

- Medicine Hat and Swift Current officially clinched playoff spots with wins.

- Chilliwack has been mathematically eliminated from the playoffs after their loss to Vancouver.

- Edmonton has taken a one point lead over Prince Albert in the race for 8th in the East.

- Regina lost, thus squandering a chance to make up ground on both Edmonton and Prince Albert, and falling six points out of the playoffs now. The fat lady has finished warming up and has stepped up to the mic....

- Kelowna lost, thus giving up valuable ground to the Chiefs in the race for #3 in the West.

- Saskatoon rolled into Brandon and beat the Wheaties in their own barn, stretching their lead in the Eastern division race to six points.

Coming up......Vancouver can wrap up #1 in the Western conference with a win Saturday night in Everett.
