Embargo

Note to WHL: your obsessive need to control information via the embargo on announcing trades today until after the deadline is stupid. Join the 21st century already.

fully agree! I know for a fact the Blades pulled off a huge blockbuster but no such announcement yet...what gives here. So long Benson, we'll miss ya.

I think they have a holding period in order to allow for time to inform family and billets and help smooth the impact of the decisions - like notifying the next of kin after a death because sometimes that's what it feels like - almost.

How did TC/SC manage to sneak one out?

I'm not opposed to them being allowed to notify the players before the trade is announced.

But once the notifications are made, the deal should be announced. And it's not that hard to notify the kids in most cases. Doesn't take hours.

The trade in Swift was yesterday and released today, Mike Brown was a healthy scratch last night in Edmonton

This isn't the NHL and you are not working for TSN. Reality check! These are, in some cases, 15 year old players. They don't need to hear from some blogger with nothing better to do, that they have been traded.

Dear Anonymous: no, they shouldn't hear it from me.

They should hear it from the G.M. of the team trading or acquiring them.

And THEN, the deal should be announced. Not held for hours until the WHL can release all the trades at once.

Is that simple enough for you to understand?
