Current roster breakdowns

Just for fun, a look at how the current training camp rosters break down by age for each team:

16's    17's    18's    19's    20's
Brandon Wheat Kings       78956
Calgary Hitmen351084
Chilliwack Bruins65944
Edmonton Oil Kings49753
Everett Silvertips36882
Kamloops Blazers46871
Kelowna Rockets46974
Kootenay Ice67864
Lethbridge Hurricanes86873
Medicine Hat Tigers38684
Moose Jaw Warriors47846
Portland Winterhawks331365
Prince Albert Raiders27683
Prince George Cougars48933
Red Deer Rebels57775
Regina Pats351283
Saskatoon Blades610558
Seattle Thunderbirds271061
Spokane Chiefs29883
Swift Current Broncos19674
Tri-City Americans45964
Vancouver Giants38952

(I left off any remaining 15 year olds as they are ineligible to play full time this season)

You can see that some teams are down to just 1 or 2 16 year olds already, which is certainly good news for the ones they have left on their rosters. There are also some teams with very unbalanced rosters - very deep in some age groups and very weak in others. Those are teams that ordinarily would bear watching for possible trades as they try to shore up weak age groups by moving players from stronger groups.

And the overage situations too....Saskatoon still has eight of them. They may lose some to the NHL yet but they are for sure one of the teams to watch in that trade department.

what teams have import openings? Sometimes its hard to tell...

SC has an extra, and TC might soon have an opening with the fact they got the two headed monster in net

Brandon and Calgary have only one import, and Kootenay has none. No idea whether the Ice would even be interested though since they deliberately chose not to draft any.

Other than Swift, nobody has extras at the moment, although a few teams (such as Tri-City, Saskatoon, Everett) may or may not have extras in the next few weeks depending on whether missing imports report or whether players are returned from the NHL, etc.

Brayden Cuthbert and Morgan Reilly are both still with the Warriors at this time as well as AJ Johnson. Travis Brown is also still on the roster and should see ice this weekend in Brandon. So I think that leaves the Warriors with like 4 16 year olds still in camp?

Frazee Hood Rowinski Edwards Suer and Bosch are the 20 year olds that are fighting out the 20 year old situation. Rowinski is out with an injury for another month or two. Still that only leaves 5 20year olds in camp at this time. Just wanted to shed some light on it for you.
I may be mistaken or maybe they acquired another but I don't think so.

Travis Brown (Warriors) has been recalled due to the injury to Erhardt at Edmonton rookie camp and as well Mcfaull and McIrath are at NHL training Camps. As well as Chad Suer is injuried.

I think the only 19's at MH are Vey, Grbavac, Dezman, Owuya and Konan. 5 not 8?

Dubyk, Sohn, and Pitlick are all 19 as well. That adds up to 8.
