In what MIGHT be the biggest deal of the day, the Prince George Cougars have dealt the rights to 19 year old Brett Connolly to the Tri-City Americans. Connolly is currently with the NHL's Tampa Bay Lightning, so obviously the Americans will never see him unless the Lightning decide to return him to junior this year.
In return for Connolly's rights, the Americans have given up a 2013 5th round bantam pick, plus conditional 2013 first round and 2014 second round picks. I think it is safe to say that the conditional picks only go to Prince George if Connolly actually returns to the WHL this year.
So, it's a gamble for the Americans - they are giving up a 5th round pick for nothing if Connolly stays in the NHL all year. But if he does return, that'll be a huge piece added to their lineup.
