Fleury cut

The Theo Fleury comeback may be over. Fleury - one of the great players in WHL history - was cut today by the Flames.

Sounds like he's going to take some time to think about whether he wants to continue to pursue his comeback. Despite being 41, he looked half-decent in the exhibition games he got into, and I think there's a chance he might be able to help a team that is weak at forward. He isn't going to score 30 or 40 goals anymore but he might be able to score 10-15. Surely there's an NHL club that could use 10-15 goals off their third line.

Hey Alan - when are you going to post your WHL Division/Conference predictions?

Yes, the Hitmen released Ryan Kerr last Monday. I suspect they just thought they had better defencemen who were younger. 18 year old Ben Wilson has been a nice find as a rookie, for example.

Kerr has joined the AJHL's Spruce Grove Saints.
