We heard reports a while back that the WHL was going to host a tournament for U-16 players, but now the details are out - each of the four western provinces will field a team of 15 year olds (which will certainly encompass most of the top WHL prospects in that age group) which will play a tournament in Blackfalds, AB - just outside Red Deer - in late October.
It'll basically be a showcase for many of the WHL's recent top bantam picks and future stars, which is probably why the WHL is involved in sponsoring the thing. Can't hurt to get your name out there and maybe get some of the top uncommitted 15 year olds to spend a week hobnobbing with the signed-sealed-delivered prospects while surrounded by WHL scouts.
