Not bad IMO. The name has tradition in Victoria since the city was named after Queen Victoria. The colors and logo are fine by me too, at least they stayed away from purple in favor of a royal blue.

Why a marmot as team mascot? It's not very regal looking....
I'd guess because the marmot was the mascot of the ECHL team and since the owners of the teams are the same, they already have the marmot suit and the people who wear it.
Plus there's already a local hockey fan familiarity with that mascot....that can't hurt either.
