The 2011 Import draft is underway, and with the #3 overall pick (and first WHL pick), the Calgary Hitmen have picked Swedish '93 centerman Victor Rask. 6'2", 195 lb and split last year between the Swedish junior league and the Swedish mens 2nd division. Was a 2nd round pick of the Carolina Hurricanes last week.

And for finding stats on many of these European players, I highly recommend the website Eliteprospects. They have very good stats on a great many young European stars.

Alan, how likely can any of these players make the jump to the CHL? Do you think the Swedish player will leave Sweden? Look forward to your thoughts.
