Slow news week for WHL fans since there's only one WHL game Monday - Thursday this week due to the pointless CHL-Russia games.
So, let's turn our attention today to Moose Jaw, where the bickering continues over the building (or not building, more accurately) of their new rink. Flashback to June 16, where Moose Jaw city council voted to build a new arena for the 2010-11 season, with a project manager to be hired by August 1 and to start construction by December 1.
Well, December 1 is less than a week away and there appears to be no start of construction in sight in Moose Jaw. If they had started construction five months ago on June 17th, they'd have the excavation done and most of the concrete poured by now. Instead, it's more plebiscites, more threats, more bickering. I really don't care what they do.....just make a decision one way or the other and either get some shovels in the ground or let the WHL start looking for a new home for the team. One or the other.
