Schedule Out

The schedule is out for the WHL Final:

Fri, Apr 30: Tri-City at Calgary, 7pm MDT
Sat, May 1: Tri-City at Calgary, 8pm MDT
Tue, May 4: Calgary at Tri-City, 7pm PDT
Wed, May 5: Calgary at Tri-City, 7pm PDT
Fri, May 7: Tri-City at Calgary, 7pm MDT
Sun, May 9: Calgary at Tri-City, 5pm PDT
Mon, May 10: Tri-City at Calgary, 7pm MDT

No word from Shaw yet but we can probably safely assume they're going to cover the series.

So they went with the 2-2-1-1-1 format instead of the 2-3-2....makes sense I guess since the travel is not as bad as it could be. I believe it's about a 10 hour bus ride between the two cities - that's less than the travel involved in the Calgary-Brandon Eastern final, for example.

If a game 7 is needed, that's a tough turnaround with game 7 being in Calgary just 22 hours or so after game 6 in Kennewick. I assume in that case, the league will probably arrange for the teams to fly charter to Calgary after game 6. They have done this in the past for tightly-scheduled games championships series - for example, last year the Rockets and Hitmen all flew from Kelowna to Calgary after game 4 in Kelowna....
