A (*) means the player is on the Hitmen protected list. There are probably a few others on the list too that aren't marked; I don't know all 50 names on the list unfortunately.

Obviously, Karl Alzner was not actually there since he's in Russia right now. I just included him anyway since he's on the team. Dan Mercer was there with a cast on his wrist but not playing. As previously mentioned, Riley Merkley did not show.

A few notes about some prospects too....I noticed a few notable names missing from the roster and asked Brad Whelan about them. Shane Harle (3rd round 2006) is not there because he has mono. In all probability he wasn't going to make the team this year anyway, so he can try again next year when he's 17 (my view there, not Brad's). '90 defenceman Rylan Stanyer, Josh Gillis, Josh Martin (3rd round 2005), and Josh Lee (7th round 2005) have been dropped from the protected list. I didn't ask about Brendan Nadolny (9th round 2005), forgot all about him. None of the Texas kids (Amburgey, Brown, DeSwardt) are there either but I didn't ask about them because I didn't expect them to come in the first place.

Couple of the '89 tryout forwards, Graham Telford and Craig Simchuk, are former prospects of the Swift Current Broncos. Simchuk was drafted by them but never played for them although he was one of their last cuts last year. Telford played a few games with them over the last two years but was also let go last winter.
