Couple quick notes here for a Saturday evening....
First, from Gregg Drinnan's blog comes word that Raiders rookie Cole Penner - the #4 overall pick in the 2006 draft - has left the team and gone home to play Jr A this year for the Brooks Bandits of the AJHL. He suited up for Brooks on Friday night. It is an unusual situation but if the kid does not feel like he is ready to move away from home and play in the WHL yet, then he shouldn't. He can join them later this year or next year, whenever he feels ready.
Gregg also has the Shaw WHL schedule for 07-08 up. Check out his blog for the sched - link is on the left side for anyone who doesn't have Gregg bookmarked already.
Secondly, Lethbridge cut a veteran player yesterday, 19 year old forward Adam Matlock. No other cuts yesterday or today that I'm aware of, but with the exhibition season coming to an end after tonight, we should see teams cutting down to close to their final rosters in the next couple days.
