First, the Pats have released three players. Gone are Dru Cotteril, Damien Ketlo, and Marco Insam. Of course they wait until after I do my Eastern division preview! Sheesh!
With the release of Insam, it appears the Pats are prepared to go with an overage import this year, Kaspars Saulietis. I've tweaked the preview to reflect that.
Secondly, as expected, Kelowna has named James McEwen as their captain.
UPDATE: Gregg has the scoop: Kamloops trades Dustin Butler to Prince Albert for a 2008 6th round bantam pick. That leaves the Blazers with Justin Leclerc and James Priestner as their goalies, while the Raiders now have three goaltenders and four overagers. Which of David Aime or Steven Stanford will be displaced by Butler remains to be seen I guess. For sure they will have to trade one of their three overage defencemen now though.
