Another sweep?

I'm pretty sure the proverbial fat lady is the 2nd intermission entertainment in Brandon tonight. After 40 minutes, the Hitmen lead the Wheat Kings 6-2. Brandon has only had 6 shots on goal, according to WHL.ca, so it's not looking very good for the Wheat city gang.

So, assuming the Hitmen hold on for the win, they will be a perfect 12-0 through three rounds of the playoffs, which ties the WHL record for most consecutive wins in one playoff season. Calgary will have home ice advantage to start the WHL final series against the Kelowna-Vancouver winner, and a win in game one would give them sole possession of that record at 13 straight wins.

Andrew Hayes was pulled after the 4th Calgary goal. In the series, he has a 6.18 GAA and a .806 save percentage, and took the loss in every game. With Brandon hosting the Memorial Cup next year, you have to think they will need to re-evaluate their goaltending between now and next January's trade deadline. Can Hayes get them there? His backup, James Priestner, has a 7.94 GAA and .786 save percentage in the series, heading into the third period.
