Former WHLer admits to murder

Here's a shocker.....former WHLer Ladislav Scurko was arrested and confessed yesterday to the murder of a hockey referee in his native Slovakia.

I have not been able to find an English article on the incident yet, but there are numerous articles available from European papers which report that Scurko confessed to stabbing referee Marek Liptaj to death at a highway rest stop in January 2008 and burying the body nearby.

Scurko, who played for Seattle in 04-05 and 05-06 (posting 43 points each year) and Tri-City in 06-07 (briefly, before suffering a season-ending injury), as well as for Slovakia at the 2005 and 2006 World Juniors, is facing up to 20 years in prison for the killing.
