Second major trade of the day tonight, this one between the Hitmen and Warriors and involving Joel Broda, who was probably the top trade bait out there at the deadline.
The Hitmen pick up Broda (who leads the WHL with 36 goals in 39 games) and fellow 19 year old forward Tomas Karpov, in exchange for 18 year old forward Brendan Rowinski and Calgary's 2009 2nd and 7th round picks.
Rowinski was Calgary's 2005 first round bantam pick and is having a breakout year offensively this year with 31 points in 33 games for the Hitmen. Karpov looks like almost a throw-in, a 2nd year player who brings speed to the table but not much else - 23 points last year and only 12 this year so far.

Alan, are you surprised Kisio made a big deal today? I thought it would have a couple of minor deals. Hopefully Broda fits right in.
