Lethbridge-Medicine Hat suspensions announced

The WHL has finalized the suspensions from the Tigers-Canes brawl...

- Hurricanes coach Michael Dyck gets five games and a $500 fine for not being in control of his players.

- Hurricanes forward Dwight King gets five games for leaving the bench to fight.

- Hurricanes forward Craig Orfino gets three games for leaving the bench. I assume he gets less than King because he did not actually get into a fight.

- Tigers defenceman Matt McCue gets two games "for his actions during the altercation". I assume this is for being involved in two fights on the same stoppage.

- the Hurricanes organization is fined $500 for the players leaving the bench.

Dyck & King will miss the Hurricanes' games tonight vs. Prince George, tomorrow in Red Deer, next Wednesday against Regina, next Friday against Calgary, and next Saturday in Red Deer. Orfino will only miss the first three of those, of course.

UPDATE: Gregg Drinnan is reporting that the Hurricanes' radio station has dropped the hammer on colour analyst Dick Gibson, who you can hear on the YouTube video getting just a BIT overexcited about the events. Gibson will not be working the Canes game tonight....we'll see if he works another game at all.

McCue & King got instigator penalties in the last 5 minutes so I presumed King got 3 for leaving and 2 for instigating.. That would pencil out with Orfino getting 3 and McCue 2
