Just cleaning up my leftovers from the bantam draft here and noticed one thing that I thought was rather interesting. Calgary Royals Gold AAA bantam captain Trent Geiger, a player who was picked to go in the first round in more than a few mock drafts that I saw, as well as being ranked in the top ten by ISS, wasn't even picked at all.
I don't normally put a lot of stock in mock drafts because it's almost impossible to predict how more than a few teams are going to draft, but surely a player good enough to be ranked that high by ISS (a presumably reputable scouting service) would have been picked at some point. But he wasn't....no team even used a piddling 13th round pick on the kid.
He had excellent numbers - 57 points in 31 games in the Alberta AAA bantam league, and then another 18 points in 10 playoff games. And at 5'9", 150lbs, a good size. With those numbers, you'd think that even if he swore up and down that he was going the NCAA route, some team would still use a later round pick on him, just in case.
Just one of those things that makes you wonder.

maybe the kid has a bad attitude !
Maybe the same reason guys like Tyler Ennis, Jarome Iginla, Darcy Tucker, Jeff Friesen, Dan Hamhuis, Scottie Upshall, Joffrey Lupul, Jeff Woywitka, and Shane Doan never got drfated in the WHL Bantam draft.
